GAME RESULTS
Weekend of October 6 - 8
On Monday, October 8th, the PeeWee Bears added another win to bring their winning streak to six with a 35-8 win against Brantford Bisons 1. The PeeWees had a total of 5 touchdowns - 3 in the first half – two by Seth Marriott, one by Danial Tessari and another 2 in the second half by Brady Kelly and George Kennedy. Dan Urbshas added 1 convert. Giovanni Scarlatto added a field goal in the 4thquarter. The defense played strong and were led by tackles by Nick Tanti, Dylan Reilly, Kurtis Cadorette, Justin Hack, Garrett Sims and Chris Tessari. Carries were by Kelly, D. Tessari, Sims, Marriott, Nick Piacampo, Jake Frimeth and quarterback, John Beitz. The offensive line, consisting of Urbshas, Kennedy, Scarlatto, Jay Martens and Jude Nhio-son kept the Bisons defense back and allowed Beitz ample time to complete some awesome throws, with no sacks. Stewart Vandermade kept his strong season intact with 1 interception and 3 fumble recoveries. The PeeWees will be looking to avenge their previous (and only) loss when they play the Twin Cities Thrashers next Sat. Oct. 13/07 at 2 pm at Bridgeport Sports Fields.
Weekend of September 29 - 30
The Guelph Bear Pee-Wees had their 5th straight win against the Twin Cities Ravens on Sun Sept 30th at Guelph Lakes. Within minutes of the first quarter, the score was 8-0 with a touchdown by Seth Marriott, followed by the convert by Dan Urbshas. Jake Frimeth's catch in the endzone gave Guelph their second touchdown. The Ravens were kept down with tackles by Kurtis Cadorette, Max Harper, Mac Dalla Lana, Stewart Vandermade and Nick Tanti. The Bears steadily marched down the field with carries by Marriott, Frimeth, Brady Kelly, Alex Daniel, Chris Tessari and Garrett Sims. Justin Hack picked off 2 passes with interceptions. Nick Piacampo and Sims had Guelph's 3rd and 4th touchdowns respectively and Urbshas added another 4 points with converts. Final score was 32-6 for the Bears. Their next game is Monday, October 8th at 10 a.m, Gretzky Park in Brantford.
Weekend of September 22 - 23
On Sunday afternoon, the Peewee Bears continued their win streak in Brantford with a 37-8 victory over the Brantford Bisons. Seth Marriott lead the Bears offensive attack with 3tds. Other touchdowns were added by Alex Daniel on a long pass from quarterback John Beitz and the final td was added by back-up quarterback Nick Tanti. Dan Urbshas added 3 converts for the Bears. On defense, the Bears were lead by Tanti, Kurtis Cadorette, Justin Hack, Dylan Reilly and Stewart Vander Made who added his 5th interception of the season. The Bears next game is September 30th at Guelph Lakes vs the Twin City Ravens.
Weekend of September 15 - 16
On Sunday, September 15th, the PeeWee Bears continued their winning streak with their third shut-out win in a row against the Twin Cities Ravens. In the first quarter, Guelph's touchdown by Seth Marriott followed by the convert by Giovanni Scarlatto gave them the 8-0 lead. Dan Urbshas added a rouge with a tackle in the endzone after a failed field goal attempt giving the Bears a 9-0 lead at halftime. Guelph's defense with tackles by Nick Tanti, Kurtis Cadorette, Justin Hack, Max Harper, Justin Parkinson and Myles Spooner kept Twin Cities from advancing up the field. Carries by Marriott, Brady Kelly and Nick Piacampo gave Guelph yards during the 3rd quater. Highlights in the fourth quarter were quarterback's John Beitz long pass to Alex Daniel and Guelph's second touchdown, again by Marriott. Stewart Vandermade added his 4th interception in 2 games, one where he then had a run of 37 yards on the return. Final score for the game was 17-0 for the Bears.
The next game for the Guelph Pee Wee Bears is Sunday, September 25 at 4 p.m., Gretzky Sports Fields against the Brantford Bisons 2.
Weekend of September 8 - 9
The Guelph Bears Pee-Wee team continued their streak from their previous win in Sunday's September 9th game against the Twin Cities Screamin' Eagles. They scored a total of 6 touchdowns with 2 each by Brady Kelly and Danial Tessari, and 1 each by Nick Tanti and Seth Marriott, followed by 4 successful converts by Giovanni Scarlatto. Game highlights were carries by Kelly, Marriott, Jake Frimeth,and Danial Tessari and Receiving by Nick Piacampo who had 7 catches on the day. There were impressive tackles by Max Harper and Mac Dalla Lana who also got a sack late in the 3rd quarter. Harper also recovered a fumble in the 3rd quarter to give Guelph the ball back. There were two interceptions by Stewart Vandermade. The Screamin' Eagles fell silent with their 44-0 loss against the Bears.
The Pee-Wee's next game is Saturday, September 15th , 1:30 p.m. against the Twin Cities Ravens at Bridgeport Sports Fields. |
